Joe Long was born in Elizabeth N.J. on September 5, 1941. His birth name was Joe LaBracio.
Joe was a classically-trained musician; however, a severe hand injury forced him to give up classical bass and switch to the Fender bass-guitar. He became a rock and roll player for several local New Jersey bands. Joe joined the Four Seasons in 1965, replacing Charles Calello who had temporarily replaced Nick Massi. Joe contributed much to the on going success of the group, continuing to record, perform and tour with the Four Seasons through the mid 70's. He still does an occasional recording session with fellow Seasons-member Tommy DeVito. |
